Restrict WooCommerce Payment Methods Based on IP Addresses

Plugin: WooCommerce Conditional Payments Pro

Restricting WooCommerce payment methods by IP addresses can be useful in the following scenarios:

  • Internal testing
    • Enable payment method for pre-release testing
  • In-store access
    • Enable Cash on delivery for call-center operators or in-store representatives
  • Fraud blacklisting
    • Deny certain IP address from using credit card payments

Conditional Payments Pro makes it possible to control payment methods by both single IP addresses as well as IP ranges.

For example, a ruleset like this will enable Cash on delivery for 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.255.255:

IP address can also be combined with other conditions. For example, you can allow credit cards for low value orders (< $100) while disabling them for high value orders from a certain IP region:

This makes the plugin very flexible when it comes to controlling payment methods. In addition to enabling / disabling payment methods, you can also add fees or set a custom message about why a certain payment method is not available:

You can find out your own IP address at WhatIsMyIPAddress.com.
